Tourism, Heritage or Airline Career Studies at Templemore College
County Tipperary’s only dedicated college of further education is now offering a one-year programme designed to meet the expanding needs of the tourism, heritage and airline industries. Those teaching on the Templemore College’s Business with Tourism programme are industry practitioners who believe that intriguing culturally curious visitors about Ireland’s past is the major challenge for local areas wishing to attract tourists. To this end, students at Templemore College get the opportunity for an in-depth exploration of Ireland’s multi-layered history and expansive culture while also being provided with the industry specific business skills to work in hospitality or create new heritage based businesses.
The Business with Tourism programme also prepares students for work as cabin crew with international airlines. A broad introduction to the working of the airline industry is provided along with intensive preparation for cabin crew interviews. Most airlines and tourism businesses require that cabin crew are functional in a second language and so Business with Tourism students at Templemore College have the opportunity for an expenses-paid work placement in either France, Germany or Spain.
Those wishing to pursue further study can access linkages with Waterford Institute of Technology that allow students, who have successfully completed their year at Templemore College, progress to higher education on one of several reserved places in higher certificate and honours degree programmes.
So, if you are a school leaver, mature student, or a community activist interested in promoting locally based tourism, Templemore College provides the necessary skills to further your ambitions. A one year, fulltime course in business with tourism begins in Sept 2017. Details are available by telephoning 0504-31007, visiting www.tcfe.ie or emailing info@tcfe.ie.
