For Whom

This is a one year full-time course which involves classroom, fieldwork and work placement education and training. It provides students with the range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for employment in the security industry.

The aim of this programme is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and competency to apply for their relevant PSA License and to work in the Private Security Industry.

Educational Progression

Graduates from the course are qualified to register with the Private Security Authority (PSA) established under the Private Security Service Act (2004).  Students can gain entry to a wide range of courses at various Technological Universities.  There are reserved places in SETU for TCFE graduates.  Students can also access the Higher Education links scheme.

Employability Statement

Graduates can source work in the security industry in a variety of settings such as independent or private security companies as door, static or patrol security. Can work in Events, Corporate and Warehousing security.
