This course is for students who have an interest in:
- Europe and the European Union in particular, and its vital role in world economics and global politics
- If you are a job seeker, this qualification will enhance your job prospects in a wide range of multicultural environments, where good language and communications skills are required.
This is a one year, full-time course.
Successful applicants will normally have successfully completed their Leaving Cert, a Level 4 studies or equivalent, or will have previous professional or life experience and now wish to gain an accredited qualification.

This course offers a progression route to the Level 8 European Studies degree in the University
Templemore College is proud to be an active partner in the EU-funded Erasmus+ programme. Erasmus+ provides opportunities for students to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad. Currently, thirty-five
students from Templemore College take part in work placements in Spain, France, andGermany each year. Work placements are organised through a network of contacts with Spanish, German, and French enterprises in a wide
variety of industry sectors. Erasmus+ opportunities are very beneficial to students who gain valuable experience while learning a new language and technical skills but also in terms of personal growth. All students report an increase in self-confidence, independence, maturity, and motivation
upon their return home to Ireland. In addition,the Erasmus+mobility experience can enhance the student’s CV and help the student secure future
employment, at home or abroad. The Erasmus+ programme can be particularly beneficial for those students looking to continue their studies of
European languages at higher level.
EU funding for the work placements contributes to the costs of flights,
accommodation, and day-to-day living expenses while on work placement.
